What is Guanzon Beach?

Guanzon Beach Entrance

Guanzon beach is located right along the highway in Langtad, City of Naga. With its affordable price and by-the-beach accommodations, it’s no surprise why it’s popular among locals and even those who come afar.

The City of Naga is no doubt one of the top visited towns in Cebu. People from all over Cebu would flock and visit Naga’s Plaza or Pasilong sa Naga. But if what you’re looking for is relaxing accommodation by the beach or a beachy venue to hang out with friends or workmates, then Guanzon beach is your place!

What to Look For in Guanzon Beach Resort?

Beach room

Guanzon beach is frequented mostly by big families, friends, and large groups, especially for team building and parties. If you wonder what entices these people to spend their weekends and special days at Guanzon other than basking in the sun on the beach, then here’s what you can find at Guanzon beach resort.

  • Beach with and without a shore
  • Beach Houses
  • Bluepool Waterpark

Beach Houses

Beach houses are also available and it comes with or without a videoke set. Of course, it’s pricier if you book the one with videoke set. But if you want to be just right on the beach, in a bigger room with beds and A/C where you can sleep after you and your friends sing your hearts out, then this is a good steal. It gets booked faster though.

Bluepool Waterpark Naga

Bluepool Waterpark Entrance

This by-the-beach pool and waterpark came in years after Guanzon beach was established to cater to those people who prefer the swimming pool.

In 2019, the Nagahanons welcomed its first-ever waterpark with multiple colorful water slides, swimming pools (for kids and adults), a water play area for kids, tables, cottages, and rooms.

Tambayan ni Yoyok and Snack House

Guanzon Beach Snack Bar

Guanzon beach resort also has a snack house and a convenience store adjacent to each other – just right outside the beach entrance. You can either grab a quick snack puso with tempura and the like OR buy some chips, pizza, sodas, and liquors at the adjacent store.

However, just a heads up, prices are kinda steep compared to those at the grocery stores.

Rows of tables and chairs are also lined up just beside the snack house so you can take your snacks there while you wait for your friends to come. Or go book one of their videoke rooms just right next to it.

Parking Lot

On the left side of Guanzon beach resort (in front of Bluepool Waterpark Naga) is its parking space. It’s not that big, and it hasn’t been developed that much yet. Beware though that on rainy days, the ground gets muddy; so you might want to consider that.

Camping Site and Tents

Guanzon Beach Tents

One of the many reasons why Guanzon beach resort is often frequented by large groups for company events is because it also has its own camping site and tents on platforms. Although the campsite isn’t that big and not within a stone’s throw away from the beach, I’d say people do come here for convenience.

You can easily set up your tent at the Guanzon beach grounds and build a fire under the starry sky,  take a dip in the beach or swimming pool, or stroll at night at Naga Plaza. And the beach resort is just right along the national highway.

Cottages and Rooms

Whether for day or overnight use, you can also choose to stay at Guanzon beach resort in Langtad, Naga City, by booking a cottage, room, payag, or simply a table.

The Best Time to Visit

Like any other beach, Guanzon beach resort Naga gets crowded during the weekends and on special holidays. So if you prefer a quieter place and have the place almost all to yourself, going there on weekdays would be ideal.

How to Get There?

If you are coming from SM Cebu City, you can ride the KMK bus going to Langtad, City of Naga. Let the driver know to drop you off at Guanzon Beach. You can easily find it since it is just along the road.

Closing Thoughts

We went to Guanzon beach in Naga just this December for a family Christmas party and here’s my personal takeaway.

Affordability. Guanzon beach accommodation rates are quite budget-friendly. We booked an airconditioned room without the videoke and it’s pretty decent. The bed is spacious enough for 4-5 grown-ups. It’s also convenient for us who have kids in tow. You can easily put the kids to bed, while you do your catching up on the little front porch.

Accessibility. It’s a huge plus for me that it’s just right along the highway (although you still have to drive through a narrow road, about 100 meters away, to access the entrance gate). Plus it is also minutes away from the grocery stores, restaurants, and other tourist spots in Naga City.

Amenities/Place. Business-wise, I like that they have a couple of options for accommodations to offer to their guests. But aside from the pool, videoke, campsite, and a tiny portion of shoreline, there’s nothing that much to do in Guanzon beach. If you’re a 100% beach bum, this place won’t excite you.

And although there are designated trash bins around the resort, green bottle flies (larger than the common house flies) are visible – which is a turn off. (Maybe it was because we went during peak season and some were preparing their meals right there. Not sure.)

Okay, the place is good at its price point, but it needs improvement and a little love. And this isn’t just coming from me, but also from our friends who’ve been there more than once and from other online reviews.

Nevertheless, if what you’re after is a decent place with beachy vibes for a get-together with your family and pals, then this one is just exactly what you need.
