What is Wingers Unlimited?

Chicken wings aren’t just for parties and game days – says every Filipino who eats saucy, messy-flavored chicken with rice! And that’s what Wingers Unlimited is for.

Wingers Unlimited is a Cebu-based fast-food chain run by 5BDF Corporation. With its principles of offering the public a variety of good choices, affordability, accessibility, and excellent customer service, it’s not surprising how Wingers Unlimited has grown since it started in 2016.

It recently opened a branch in SM Center Ormoc. And with Covid restrictions loosening up, a get-together over good food with your favorite people at Wingers Unlimited is a great idea.

Wingers Unlimited Review

Unlimited restaurants are popping up here and there around Cebu. And if you happen to be in Ayala Mall Bloc, I.T. Park Lahug, Cebu, you have to drop by Wingers Unlimited on the 2nd floor. Of course, that’s right after you’ve had your tour around the mall; frequented mostly by call center agents.

Place and Food

We were greeted by their friendly staff and led to our table after waiting for about 5 minutes, which was kinda quick for a fully-packed unlimited restaurant. (And it was during lunch hours!)

The ambiance was ok with all those hangar-inspired decors, but the place was kinda cramped though. Nevertheless, I was the happiest that they have a high chair for my 1-year-old. Then, the waitress asked us if we’d prefer 6 pieces of chicken for each flavor or go all in (I think it was 10 pieces.) for our 1st round of servings.

Since it will just be me and my husband who’d really do the eating (we had 2 kids in tow, and a 1-year-old), we just went with 6 pieces of chicken for each flavor.

So, while waiting for our chicken wings to be served, they served us fries in varied flavors. And if you have kids, you could probably imagine the look on their faces.

Fries as appetizers actually sounds like a good strategy as this will keep their customers already half full while waiting for the unlimited chicken wings to be served.

Now, onto the main food. The chicken wings weren’t that big if you compare them to other fast food restaurants that are serving one.

Also, I was kinda expecting that each piece would be generously coated with the sauce. Instead, the fried chicken was just merely dowsed on top with sauce, which didn’t live up to my idea of messy, saucy, finger-licking chicken wings.

But hey, dipping those bad boys into the sauce wasn’t that bad after all!😋

And the sauce…. They were lip-smacking good! My favorite was Colonel Sweet Mustard. It got a nice sweetness to it, with a little bit of tang.

But overall the sauces were good. It’s just that we wished they could have coated each chicken piece generously.

As for everything else, it was a good one given its price point. And the kids enjoyed the soft-served ice cream so much.

Service

We weren’t waiting that long for our table granted that we went there during peak hours. The staff at Wingers Unlimited in I.T. Park were quick to refill our rice and fries. And they have like one staff on standby to overlook the customers’ needs.

Wingers Unlimited vs. Brad’s Buffalo Hot Wings

For our head-to-head comparison, we went with Wingers and Brad’s Buffalo Hot Wings as they are both serving flavored chicken wings in Ayala Mall Bloc in I.T. Park.

Price. I’d give it to Wingers. I mean, an unlimited meal at P399 is already a good steal. Whereas in Brad’s, for a family of 5, we’ve paid almost P 1,500 for our chicken meal (including drinks) compared to roughly P 1,200 at Wingers (with UNLIMITED rice, fries, drinks, and ice cream). I only paid in full for 3 as my 8-year-old and 1-year-old were admitted free.

Food. I appreciate Brad’s for coating their chicken pieces really well with the sauce, but I think that was needed since their fried chicken was bland. But for the sauces, Wingers takes home the bacon. They were spot-on delicious, and kids do love them. I just wish that their fried chicken pieces were as big as Brad’s.

Service. Both did well in this department, so far. Although, I really don’t mind waiting for my food as long as I have someone to talk with.
